Specialist Couples Therapist
Sarah Horner is a dedicated psychodynamic couples therapist, holding a Master’s degree in Psychology from Cambridge University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Couples Psychotherapy from Tavistock Relationships, a prestigious institution recognised globally for its research, training, and practice in couples therapy.
With extensive experience working with a wide range of couples and varying presentations, Sarah is equipped to address a variety of relationship challenges. She specialises in issues related to communication difficulties, recurring conflicts, infidelity, and trust and commitment concerns. Additionally, she offers support in navigating significant life transitions, including the arrival of a new baby, cohabitation, bereavement, children leaving home, and retirement.

Employing a psychodynamic approach, Sarah offers meaningful support that delves deeply into the underlying roots of her clients experiences and challenges, examining the origins of feelings and experiences, and how past events may influence current dynamics. She understands that couples often find themselves trapped in cycles of blame and resentment, frequently unaware of their contributions to the dynamic.
Through therapy, Sarah facilitates an environment where couples can explore their relationship as a co-created experience, fostering understanding and growth.
Before specialising in couples therapy, Sarah spent two decades in communications consulting across various sectors. Her rich professional background enhances her skills as a couples therapist, allowing her to work effectively with clients to achieve meaningful, lasting change in their relationships.
